The Nexon has taken Tata Motors to a new height along with its latest sibling, the Punch. However, one of Nexon’s biggest competitors, the Maruti Brezza is soon going to get a facelift. New design
The new Brezza will get a significant design change over the outgoing model. So what’s new? The front now gets a new grille with chrome, adding the bling factor. The rear will get a new tail lamp design that will give it a sharper rear fascia.
Tata Nexon vs Maruti Brezza – New specifications
The new Brezza will get the updated 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine. This engine now offers better fuel efficiency & performance. This engine is capable of producing 103bhp & 137Nm of torque. So what is new, may you ask? Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. Maruti is also likely to offer CNG later on. The Interiors will be getting a major update in the new Brezza. The major attraction will be a new floating infotainment system in the middle. What about a sunroof? Price and launch
Maruti has already confirmed that it will be launching the new Brezza on 30th June. What about the pricing? We expect Maruti to increase the price by Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh, depending upon the variants. So, the Brezza could start somewhere from around Rs 10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

So should you wait? It is a tough one to answer. Both Nexon and Brezza are quite strong products. The new Brezza is bringing a lot of new features, something that the car really needed. Moreover, the 1.5-litre petrol engine will now be more fuel-efficient. Also, the Brezza gets a torque converter unit (which has been updated to a 6-speed unit), which is in real-world performs better when compared to an AMT gearbox that the Nexon comes with. So it definitely makes sense for Nexon buyers to wait for the Brezza. The launch is just a few days away with bookings already open. So, waiting for the Brezza would not harm.
