Honda’s struggles in India stem from the fact that it has no proper SUV in its lineup. According to recent developments, Honda is working on a compact and Creta SUV. This compact SUV will be based on the Amaze platform. Honda will be first bringing the compact SUV with plans to launch it in 2023. Reportedly, Honda has already finalised the design of this new compact SUV.

As mentioned above, this compact SUV will be based on a modified version of Amaze. This will help Honda cut some costs. Coming to the engine specifications, it might get Amaze’s 1.2-litre engine. Other than this, Honda has 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. Will Honda use the 1.5-litre engine on the compact SUV? Honda can if it is alright with sacrificing the sub-four-metre excise duty.
