Mahindra Scorpio-N
Probably the most hotly anticipated SUV this year is the Scorpio-N. Mahindra has confirmed that it will be launching the Scorpio-N on the 27th of June. So what’s the hype about? With the Scorpio-N, Mahindra is looking to take on the D-segment SUVs. Mahindra has also revealed the design, which looks quite imposing. Other than this, it is expected to get powerful petrol and diesel engines. Also, Mahindra will load it with features to enhance the value-for-money quotient.
Upcoming SUVs under Rs 20 lakhs – New Maruti Brezza
Another SUV people have been waiting for is the new Brezza. The Brezza will soon be getting a major update. The exterior look of the Brezza has already been leaked which looks quite sharp when compared to the current model. So what else will be different? The new Brezza will get a modern interior layout with new features as well. Maruti will be launching the new Brezza on 30th June.
Toyota Hyryder
It has been no secret that Toyota is working on new SUVs in collaboration with Maruti. Toyota is expected to name it’s new SUV the Hyryder. According to reports, Toyota will be doing a global unveiling of this SUV on 1st July 2022. This SUV will take on the likes of Tata Harrier, MG Hector, etc. We expect it to come loaded with modern features to take on the already groomed segment.
Maruti mid-size SUV
As mentioned above, Maruti Suzuki is also collaborating with Toyota. Maruti’s version will be launched a little while later. Maruti’s version will get a different design with some subtle changes. We expect it to be launched before the festive season as well.
Upcoming SUVs under Rs 20 lakhs – XUV400
Mahindra will be dabbling into the EV space with an electric SUV. We are talking about the XUV400. The XUV400 is an electric version of the XUV300. So why the name change? The XUV400 will be bigger than the XUV300. Mahindra will be using the original Ssangyong Tivoli platform which will give the XUV400 extra length that will also help it accommodate a bigger boot. What about power and range figures? Mahindra will be using higher-density NMC cells that will give it better power and range figures. As of now, not much details have been shared but we expect it to strongly take on the existing players, especially the Nexon EV duo.
MG Nexon EV rival
Currently, MG has its presence in the EV segment with the ZS EV. But the ZS EV is an expensive option for quite a few buyers. So, what about an affordable option? MG is working on an affordable EV to compete with the Nexon EV. This EV will be sub-4m with a smaller motor than the ZS EV. It is expected to get a range of 300 to 400km with real world range figures trickling down to 250km to 300km.
Tata Harrier facelift
Tata’s big SUV, the Harrier, will also be getting an update soon. The Harrier hasn’t received any major updates since its launch in 2019. So what will the Harrier facelift get? The Harrier facelift will get some design changes. But the major update will be the addition of a petrol engine. It will also get an off-roading focused suspension as well as more features.
