Maruti’s safest car to launch SOON!

Maruti cars are often criticised for their poor safety records but one car that has stood out from this notion is the Brezza. It is one of the safest cars from Maruti’s stable. Maruti is soon bringing in a Brezza facelift, someone next month. Even before the car has launched, GNCAP has stated that it expects the new Brezza to get an even better rating. How will Maruti achieve this?

The current Brezza is the safest car from Maruti in India. It comes with a four-star crash test rating from GNCAP. Recently, even the badge-engineered Toyota Urban Cruiser achieved the same rating. The Brezza is built on the Global C platform. GNCAP even rated the Brezza’s body structure as stable. GNCAP is now quite sure that the facelifted Brezza can achieve five-stars with some changes.

What do we know about the new Brezza?

Last year, the new Brezza was leaked online. From to the leaked images, it became clear that the facelift will come with an updated design. A new grille, sharper headlamps & taillamps and sharper alloy wheels will give the car a completely fresh look. In the interiors, we will get to see a newly designed dashboard layout with a floating infotainment system. It will also get more soft-touch materials and features. Moreover, the Brezza would become the first car from Maruti to offer a sunroof.

The new Brezza is expected to come with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. However, we expect the power figures to see a slight bump. This time around, the compact SUV will also get Maruti’s new six-speed torque converter gearbox that debuted with the Ertiga/XL6.
