Tata Electric Mobility continues to grow at a rapid pace. Last month, it unveiled two new concepts: Curvv & Avinya. This month the brand has launched the Nexon EV Max. Now Tata has trademarked more names which could feature on its future EV concepts. In today’s article, we will discuss if Tata is really bringing four more EV concepts?

New development

Tata Motors has been busy filing new trademarks for their future concepts. The brand has now filed four new name trademarks. These are – Styzor, Bovita, Auroar and Xiomara. These could be the names of future EV concepts. So, do all these names concretely hint toward future concepts? No, like before the launch of the Curvv concept, Tata had trademarked ‘Curvv’ as well as ‘Sliq’. We are yet to hear anything about the Sliq concept. So, in similar fashion, Tata could be reserving these names for the future and might or might not use them.

Tata’s plan with the concepts

Currently, Tata has been converting its ICE cars into EVs. This has helped Tata to get a decent head start. EVs which were ICE-specific originally but were converted into into electric are said to be based on the Gen-1 EV Architecture. After this, Tata will be bringing EVs based on Gen-2 EV Architecture. The Curvv concept will be the first car to be based on this architecture. Tata has plans to launch the production version of the Curvv Concept by 2024. So what kind of range could the Curvv come with? It is expected to get a range of 400 to 450km. The Curvv based car will first be launched as an EV and will then be brought as an ICE-powered car.

What after Curvv?

As mentioned above, Curvv will be based on a Gen-2 EV architecture. After the Curvv, Tata will bring its Gen-3 EV Architecture based car, derived from the Avinya concept. The Avinya will be based on Tata’s electric-only skateboard platform. It is expected to have a range of more than 500km and is expected to see a market launch by 2025.
