Hyundai has confirmed that it will be launching the Ioniq 5 in the second half of 2022. The Ioniq 5 will mostly come through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route here. As it will be a CBU, pricing will be on the premium side. Currently, there is no direct rival to Ioniq 5 but once Kia launches the EV6, both sister models will go against each other head-on.

The Ioniq 5 has a futuristic appeal with a striking design. It is based on Hyundai’s 45 EV concept car. The car is built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Architecture (E-GMP) platform. At the front, we have a futuristic grille and LED DRLs. In the side, the Ioniq 5 gets a lot of creases and cuts.

Globally, the Ioniq 5 comes with various battery and motor options. It comes with two battery packs: 58kWh & 72.6kWh. The first battery pack provides a range of 385km, while the bigger battery provides a range of 481km. The Ioniq 5 comes with a rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive option. RWD motor comes with a motor that makes 168bhp & 350Nm of torque. The AWD motor is capable of producing 301bhp & 605Nm of torque.

Unsurprisingly, the Ioniq 5 will come loaded with features like other Hyundai cars. It comes with premium leather upholstery, Bose sound system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster & infotainment system, connected car technology and ADAS.
