With the new rule, even base models will get 6-airbags as standard, improving the overall safety. So cars will be protected from side impacts as well thanks to the additional curtain airbags.

Six airbags will surely bump the price of all its cars. Manufacturers would not have any issue employing six airbags in their cars. As almost all cars get 6-airbags in their top variants. But the starting price of base variants are expected get a minimum price hike of Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. A good thing will be that this new rule will most likely bridge the gap between the pricing of base and top models.
