Nitin Gadkari’s new move will make driving cheap
Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, is very ambitious regarding his works. He is planning to make highway running much cheaper and time-effective. How will he do it? Nitin Gadkari toll plan – Removing Tolls
Nitin Gadkari has suggested that there must not be any toll plaza within 60km vicinity of National Highways. He also addressed that his ministry would ensure that this is taken care of within three months. He stated “I will ensure that there will be only one toll plaza within 60km and if there’s a second toll plaza, then it will be shut in the next three months,” he said. Also, for the convenience of residents near the toll plaza, they might get their passes using their Aadhar card.
Nitin Gadkari toll plan – Major Road Projects
Along with that, he also briefed about the ongoing projects in India. About 1,000 people are working on the Zojila tunnel project which costs around 7,000 crores. His statement on this was “In Jammu and Kashmir, projects worth Rs 7,000 crores are underway. About 1,000 people are working inside the Zojila tunnel at -8 degrees celsius” Also, on the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway, “Work on Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway has started. By end of this year, we’ll be able to reach Mumbai from Srinagar in 20 hours and the distance between Delhi and Amritsar will be covered in four hours,” Gadkari said.
Other Initiatives
As we know, Nitin Gadkari is vocal regarding the vision of making running costs low. Recently, he personally inaugurated a new pilot project and even took a test-drive of the Toyota Mirai. The Toyota Mirai is a mid-size hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). He also posted a video on his social media of all the benefits of fuel cell vehicles and how the Mirai pilot project will help in this direction.
