At present, Tucson is Hyundai’s most premium offering in India. But the Tucson sold in India is the older generation one. Globally, Tucson got a generational update in 2020. Now Hyundai is gearing up to launch this new-generation in India as well. It will get a futuristic design with a lot of added features. The new-generation Tucson is expected to be launched in mid-2022.
Maruti-Toyota mid-size SUV
Maruti is currently collaborating with Toyota on various products. But the most anticipated product from this collaboration is the mid-size SUV. It will likely be based on Daihatsu’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture). Both the brands will be sharing this car similar to earlier collaborations like the Toyota Glanza & Maruti Baleno as well as the Toyota Urban Cruiser & Maruti Vitara Brezza. It is expected to see a launch sometime around the festive season this year.
Upcoming big SUVs in 2022 – Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep is already working on bringing the Jeep Meridian to India. Then it will bring the Grand Cherokee to the country. The Grand Cherokee has been spotted testing in Pune, Maharashtra. It is expected to come with a 3.6-litre V6 engine paired to an automatic gearbox. 4WD will be standard on all variants, but its capabilities will vary depending on the variants.
