Is the XUV300 still a unique car in its segment?
Mahindra has always been known for its rugged SUVs. But its urban SUVs like the XUV300 have also done decently for the brand. The XUV300, when launched, was the most feature-loaded car in its segment. But this led to a higher sticker price. So Mahindra had to delete some features from the XUV300 to balance the pricing. The brand ended up deleting some unique features like heated ORVMs, knee airbags, etc. So, does the Mahindra XUV300 still have any unique features in 2022? We find out in this article.
Dual-zone climate control
Dual-zone climate control is a feature that is normally available on high-end cars. But Mahindra did offer this feature with the XUV300. This feature enables the driver and the front passenger to set individual temperatures.
Mahindra XUV300 2022 – Multi-mode steering wheel
Car manufacturers generally provide tilt and telescopic steering adjustments. We have also seen drive modes in cars. But Mahindra did go one step ahead by offering steering modes in its segment. The XUV300 is the only car in its segment to come with steering modes. The steering wheel has three settings – Normal, Comfort and Sport, which optimises the steering wheel feedback as per the driver’s choice of mode.
All-disc brakes
Most of the cars in this segment come with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. But the XUV300 comes with all-four disc brakes as standard across all its variants. Disc brakes offer enhanced braking. They are less prone to brake fade and overheating as well.
Mahindra XUV300 2022 – Longest wheelbase
The XUV300 has the longest wheelbase in its segment as it is based on the SsangYong Tivoli X100 platform. It sits on a wheelbase of 2600mm. A longer wheelbase means more space in the interiors which the XUV300 provides.
Conclusion
Although Mahindra has removed features from the XUV300, it still remains quite a good proposition considering all the features it still comes with making it a strong competitor against its rivals.
