Tata to revive another famous nameplate soon
Tata Motors has had a major sales hike in the last couple of years. This has given Tata the confidence to bring iconic nameplates like the Safari. The Safari, since its revival, has been doing good sales for the brand. Now, Tata is looking to revive another iconic nameplate, the Sierra. The brand had already displayed the Sierra EV at the Auto Expo 2020. In today’s article, we will be looking at another famous nameplate that will be revived by Tata as an EV.
Tata EV’s Design
Tata will try to bring as many design elements from the concept to the production car. At the same time, Tata will also try to retain the original feel of the Sierra. The car will be based on the “IMPACT 3.0” design language. It will continue the eyebrow DRL design used by other Tata SUVs. We expect Tata to bring two versions of the Sierra EV, a three-door and a five-door, to attract a wider audience.
Specifications
The Sierra EV will be based on Tata’s electric-only Sigma platform. Coming to the specifications, it is expected to get a powertrain bigger than the Nexon EV. It is expected to get a powerful motor with a bigger battery pack. Considering the fact that the EV tech is still under development, it is hard to figure out the exact specifications of the Sierra EV.

The Sierra EV will come loaded with comfort features. It will come with features like a premium sound system, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a shift-on-fly 4×4 system, hill descent control, and a big infotainment system. It remains to be seen how many features will Tata bring from the prototype shown at the Auto Expo.
Pricing and launch
There is no official confirmation from Tata regarding the Sierra EV. But there have been some strong rumours about its development. Considering the advanced EV tech and features, we expect Tata to price the Sierra EV on the premium side of the segment.
