Maruti to replace Rs 5 lakhs top-selling hatchback soon
Maruti WagonR is one of the highest-selling and most loved hatchbacks in India. Maruti has already lined up the launch of the new Baleno and next-generation Brezza. Side-by-side, it was also working on the WagonR facelift. The WagonR facelift was spied during an ad-shoot so we can expect a launch very soon. Let us know what all updates the new WagonR will get.
Looks and Exterior
There might not be any major update in the overall looks. The overall body will be unchanged. It would get a new and reworked front grille. The WagonR facelift will also get a new set of alloy wheels on its top variant. New paint schemes will also be added in the facelift with a dual-tone finish option as well.
WagonR facelift – Features and Interior
There will no be major change in the Interior. The dashboard is expected to remain unchanged. It can get a new seating & upholstery. The WagonR can get the engine idle start-stop system for better fuel efficiency. It will still continue getting a basic 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine and Transmission
The engine options will be the same as before. It will be a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 67bhp & 90Nm of torque, and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 81bhp & 113Nm of torque. Both engines will be offered with a five-speed manual and a choice for an AMT. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is also available in the CNG option.
Wagon R facelift – Price and competition
The WagonR facelift will compete with Maruti Celerio, Hyundai Santro, and Tata Tiago. The prices of the 2022 WagonR facelift are expected to be hiked by Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.
