Toyota has been quite silent in the Indian market. It hasn’t launched many new products in the last few months. But that is soon going to change as it is going to launch a sleeve of new products in collaboration with Maruti. Toyota has already unveiled the Hilux, which is expected to revolutionise the pickup segment. We can now expect more global products from Toyota here. What do the new images reveal?
The RAV4 was spotted without any camouflage in Telangana, Hyderabad. It was spotted by one of our readers, Sai Chandra Reddy Pallerla. It seems to be the same car that has been spotted testing multiple times in India. The RAV4 has a good road presence compared to other cars.
What does it signify?
As mentioned above, the RAV4 has been spotted testing a lot of times. But what makes it interesting this time is that Toyota is set to launch several of its global products. We thus expect the RAV4 to see an India launch in the coming months. Coming to the spotted car, our reader spotted features like blind-spot monitoring (you can clearly see a warning indication on the left ORVM). He also spotted a hybrid badge on the car.
Looking at all of this, the RAV4 seems like a very promising product that will surely be capable of taking on the rivals that have been in the market for quite some time now. The availability of a strong hybrid system will also be a major push to the standout element of the car.
Maruti-Toyota Harrier competition – Price
Predicting the price of RAV4 is tricky. A lot of it depends on if Toyota brings it through the CBU or CKD route. We expect Toyota to bring it at a price range of the top end of Tata Harrier. With this pricing, it can compete with the Harrier and other products like the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross up to some extent. Pricing will be a crucial aspect for this product to be a success as Maruti too will be sharing it with Toyota.
