Tata Nexon is finally getting these much-needed features
The Nexon has been a star performer for Tata Motors. It has regularly been raking in sales of over 10,000 units per month. The facelift in 2020 has helped it a lot. However, the Nexon lacks some features when compared to the competition. If Tata can give it these features, the sales of the Nexon will potentially see a huge bump. Tata is rumoured to be giving the Nexon a major update in the coming time. In today’s article, we will take a look at some much-needed features the Tata Nexon will be getting.
New instrument cluster
Currently, the Nexon does come with a fully-digital instrument cluster but is a backlit unit that doesn’t feel premium, nor does it offer any practical usage. Tata should either give it a semi-instrument cluster like the one it offers on the Altroz and Nexon EV or give it a proper digital instrument cluster.
New infotainment system
The Tata Nexon comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is decent for its cabin. However, the competition cars like the Kia Sonet come with a 10.25-inch infotainment unit. Tata should give the Nexon a bigger infotainment system and also improve its UI.
Ventilated seats
Ventilated seats offer great ventilation to the back during long drives. It is a major boon to have in our hot and humid climatic conditions. In this segment, the Kia Sonet comes with ventilated seats in its top variants. Considering its practical usage, Tata should offer ventilated seats in the new Nexon.
Proper automatic
The Tata Nexon comes with an AMT gearbox on both its engines. However, AMT gearboxes are quite a basic implementation of automatic gearboxes. They don’t offer the same smoothness and performance as proper automatics. Other cars in this segment come with fast shifting DCT or smooth torque converter gearboxes. So Tata should give it a better automatic to take on the competition.
Wireless charging and connectivity
Wireless technology is getting better and more seamless with time. Also, now more and more phones are coming with wireless charging capabilities. Wireless charging offers a clutter-free experience in the cabin. Combined with wireless phone connectivity, it provides a clean dashboard experience with no dangling wires.
