Kia Seltos
The Seltos is pulling in great seals for Kia India. It has single-handedly established the Kia brand in India. The Seltos is known for its bold design and features. Kia sold 11,483 units of the Seltos in January 2022. It sold 4012 units in December 2021.
Top selling SUVs in January 2022 – Hyundai Venue
Like its bigger sibling Creta, the Venue is bringing in good numbers for Hyundai. In the month of January, it has even outsold the Creta. Hyundai sold 11,377 units of the Venue in January 2022. It had sold 10,360 units in December 2021.
Tata Punch
Tata launched the Punch to rejuvenate the micro-SUV segment. The Punch has raked in good sales for Tata. Tata sold 10,027 units of the Punch in January 2022. It sold 8,008 units in December 2021.
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta continues to be a popular choice in the SUV segment. With that being said, it has slipped a bit when it comes to sales figures. The Creta is known for its practicality & features. Hyundai sold 9,869 units of the Creta in January 2022. It sold 7,609 units in December 2021.
Maruti Vitara Brezza
The Maruti Vitara Brezza was the best selling SUV of 2021. It is known for its high safety ratings and Maruti badge. Though the car has gotten outdated, it still pulls in good numbers. Maruti sold 9,576 units of the Brezza in January 2022. It sold 9,531 units in December 2021.
However, what is shocking is the fact that the Brezza has slipped to the sixth position in terms of SUV sales.

Kia Sonet is another fierce competitor in the compact-SUV segment. It is famous for its bold design and features. Kia sold 6,904 units of the Sonet in January 2022. It sold 3,578 units in December 2021.
Mahindra Thar
The Thar is single-handedly pulling numbers in the lifestyle SUV segment. Mahindra has a big backlog of bookings of the Thar due to the chip shortage. Mahindra sold 4,646 units of the Thar in January 2022. It had sold units of 2,138 in December 2021.
Mahindra XUV300
Another Mahindra product on the list is the XUV300. The XUV300 is known for its features and high safety rating. Mahindra sold 4,550 units of the XUV300 in January 2022. It sold 4,260 units in December 2021.
Top selling SUVs in January 2022- Mahindra XUV700
The Mahindra XUV700 is a car that has set record numbers in the SUV segment. However, the chip shortage has surely struck the brand as Mahindra is struggling with deliveries. Still, Mahindra has managed to feature on the top 10 list by selling 4119 units of the XUV700 in January 2022. Mahindra had sold 3980 units in December 2021.
