Twin trouble – Rs 10 lakh SUVs from Maruti coming soon

Maruti is the biggest manufacturer in the Indian market today. But for the last couple of years, it has lost some ground to Hyundai and Tata. This is mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But another thing responsible for it has been the outdated product lineup. To counter this, Maruti is working on a sleeve of products to launch in the upcoming months. It is focusing on its SUV lineup as SUVs have become the new trend in India. It will be launching two SUVs under Rs 10 lakh that can disrupt the market. In today’s article, we will see Maruti’s upcoming Rs 10 lakh SUVs.

10 lakh Maruti SUVs- Maruti Jimny

The Jimny is one of the most hotly anticipated cars in India. Maruti currently produces the Jimny in India but for export markets. Reportedly it is working on a five-door version of the Jimny for the Indian market. A five-door Jimny will be more practical for buyers in India. It will come with the 1.5-litre petrol engine, Maruti uses on its other premium cars. It is expected to come with 4×2 and 4×4 drive options. The Jimny will get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, automatic climate control and automatic headlamps. 

New-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza

Brezza was the best-selling SUV in 2021. Though it continues to sell well, Maruti will be giving it a major update to continue its dominance. Recently spy shots of the Brezza were leaked online, hinting at major changes. The new-generation Brezza looks quite sharp and sleek compared to the current model. Maruti has also updated the interiors, giving it a modern dashboard layout. It is expected to continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. But Maruti will be giving it a better hybrid system to increase its fuel efficiency. The new-generation Brezza will come loaded with features like a sunroof, 360-degree camera, floating touchscreen infotainment system, paddle shifters and a new MID. The new-generation Brezza is expected to be launched in the Q2 of 2022.
