Maruti Suzuki has remained dormant for quite some time. The brand is one of the largest car makers in India. Maruti Suzuki has a product placed in every segment and price bracket for the masses. The sales figures speak for the popularity of their products. In this article, we will discuss the five most awaited cars from Maruti Suzuki.

Lifestyle Off-roader (Jimny)

Jimny

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is one of the most awaited cars from Maruti. The internet is flooded with spy shots, speculations, and rumors related to the launch of Jimny. Some say Jimny will come as a three-door variant but its is widely believed that the logical thing for Maruti to do will be to get the car as a five-door variant. A five-door Jimny sounds more practical for buyers in India. The Jimny will get Maruti’s 1.5-litre petrol engine that is currently seen in other Maruti cars like Ciaz and Vitara Brezza. The car is expected to be offered with a 4×4 variant as well. The Jimny will get features like touchscreen infotainment, cruise control, automatic climate control, and automatic headlamps. This SUV will directly compete with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, both of which will have 5 door avatars soon.

New Generation Vitara Brezza

Car enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the new generation of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. This SUV from Maruti has been a very successful product. This product has been bringing continuous sales for Maruti ever since it was introduced in 2016. The Brezza has not received a proper generation update yet.  We expect the new generation Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to get a petrol engine with the hybrid system this will make the SUV more fuel-efficient. The new generation Vitara Brezza is expected to be launched in India in the first half of 2022.

Subcompact SUV (YTB)

Futuro

The next most awaited car from Maruti is codenamed YTB. This is a coupe-styled SUV that is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The car will look similar to the Futuro-E concept car that was on display at the Auto Expo 2020. This new SUV will be built on the Heartect platform. We expect this SUV to get the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that is currently available in the Baleno. This new SUV from Maruti Suzuki will compete with other SUVs like the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Tata Punch.

Compact SUV Creta Competition

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are closely working on a C-segment SUV that will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Currently, Maruti and Toyota don’t have a product that can be placed in that segment. This new SUV is expected to be based on Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform.  This SUV will be shared by both brands while each brand will give its unique styling to this car.

Maruti Toyota Harrier Competition

Another SUV that is expected from the alliance of Maruti Suzuki and Toyota is a mid-sized SUV. This car will be bigger than the currently available Vitara Brezza and based on Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. The engine details and other specifications are not yet confirmed. This car will compete with bigger SUVs like the Tata Harrier.

New Baleno Facelift

The Maruti Baleno will be getting a couple of changes with this facelift. A new bumper with bigger fog lamps and a bigger stretched grille will be prominent features of the front fascia. The headlamps have also been updated along with the grille. The bonnet will now come with a big line that distinguishes the bonnet and the grille. The Baleno will come with new alloy wheels. At the rear, the L-shaped tail lamps extend into the tailgate. The Baleno gets a rear spoiler as well. This car will be offered with a 1.2-litre Dual Jet petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox options. The new facelift Baleno is expected to be launched by the first quarter of 2022.
