Tata motors have been raking in good sales in the Indian market. All its models are doing well in their respective segments. But the star performer for Tata is its compact SUV Nexon. The Nexon is known for its high safety ratings and features. Nexon’s biggest competitor is the Hyundai Venue. Hyundai will be giving the Venue a facelift to dethrone the Nexon. In today’s article, we will see Hyundai SUV to take on Tata.

The Venue facelift has been spotted testing in South Korea, hinting at some design changes. It is expected to get a new grille and headlamps on the facelift. The side profile is expected to remain the same as the current model. At the rear, it is expected to get inverted L-shaped taillamps with a reflector stripe in the middle like the new Creta. Other exterior changes include new alloy wheels and bumpers. In the interiors, we expect a new dashboard layout with a bigger infotainment system. Hyundai might also give it new seat upholstery.

As this is a facelift, we expect Hyundai to retain the same engine options. Currently, the Venue comes with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Hyundai, in this facelift, might give it an automatic gearbox on its diesel engine. The Venue currently misses out on automatic options on its diesel engine.

Hyundai SUV Features

The Venue already comes loaded with features. But it gets a small touchscreen when compared to the competition. Hyundai might give it a bigger touchscreen with a better sound system. Other features Hyundai can add are ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera. There is also a slim possibility that Hyundai might add ADAS to the facelifted Venue. The ADAS system already comes to cars in the US

Pricing and launch

As mentioned above, Hyundai is currently testing the Venue facelift in South Korea. So we can expect it to be launched there in mid-2022. After that, it will make its way to the Indian market by the end of 2022 or early 2023. Pricing-wise it is expected to be Rs 50,000 to 60,000 more expensive than the current model.
