The Alturas G4 comes with a sharp design with an aggressive grille. The side profile of the car comes with a lot of curvy bits giving it a rounded look. At the rear, it gets wraparound tail lamps with the Alturas G4 badging in the middle. Compared to the Fortuner, the Alturas G4 offers a more well rounded exterior design. In the interiors, too the Alturas G4 feels quite more premium then the Fortuner.

The engine comes mated to a 7-speed Mercedes-Benz supplied gearbox. While the Fortuner comes with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 2.7-litre unit capable of producing 163bhp and 245Nm of torque. While the diesel engine is a 2.8-litre unit capable of producing 201bhp and 420Nm of torque. Both engines come with manual and automatic gearbox options. Both the cars also come with 4-wheel drive options.

The Alturas G4 comes loaded with features. It comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment system, 360-degree camera, powered tailgate, 9-airbags, hill descent control, ventilated seats, memory function seats, sunroof and ambient lighting. The Fortuner comes with an 11-speaker JBL sound system, wireless charging, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and 7-airbags.
Pricing & should you buy it?
The pricing of the Fortuner starts from Rs 37.67 lakh and goes to Rs 52.57 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The pricing of the Alturas G4 starts from Rs 35.03 lakh and goes to Rs 38.63 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, you can easily get discounts of up to Rs 3 lakhs to 4 lakhs on the Alturas G4, making it quite a good buy. You should buy the Alturas G4 over the Fortuner if you can give up the reliability of the Fortuner. The Alturas G4 is however a great package when compared to the Fortuner.
