The Mahindra Alturas G4 on the other hand is 4850mm long, 1960mm wide & 1845mm tall and sits on a 2865mm wheelbase. This one gets a ground clearance of 244mm and a boot capacity of 240 litres. Looking at the dimensions, it becomes clear that the Alturas is longer and wider than the Isuzu, meaning it would provide much better shoulder room and knee room than the Isuzu MU-X. Also, the Alturas sits on a longer wheelbase meaning it would be able to provide a much-planted ride than the Isuzu. However, looking t the height & ground clearance of both cars, the Isuzu is expected to provide a much better headroom than the Alturas G4.

The Isuzu MU-X comes powered by a 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine that makes 163bhp and 360Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift compatibility. The SUV sits on 255/60 R18 wheels. The Alturas G4 on the other hand comes powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 178bhp and 420Nm of torque. The unit comes mated to a 7-speed automatic torque converter sourced from Mercedes-Benz. The Alturas, similar to the Isuzu MU-X, sits on 255/60 R18 wheels. Interestingly, both the SUVs gets a ‘Shift-on-the-fly’ 4WD system, which allows you to shift quickly between 2H and 4H.

The Alturas, in competition to the MU-X, gets features like dual-function LED DRLs, LED fog lamps with cornering lamps, LED tail lamps, an 8-inch integrated infotainment system, 360-degree camera, multifunction steering wheel, 9 airbags, ESP, hill descent control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electric sunroof, driver seat with memory function and many others.

The Isuzu MU-X gets two variants, a 2WD and a 4WD. The Alturas, similar to the Isuzu comes in two variants, a 2WD and a 4WD. The 2WD variant of the Isuzu costs Rs 40.40 Lakh whereas the 4WD variant costs Rs 42.75 Lakh. The 2WD variant of the Alturas costs Rs 34.89 Lakh whereas 4WD comes at Rs 38.48 Lakhs.
