Kia Carens
Kia is looking to establish itself in the Indian market with products in different segments. The brand recently unveiled the Carens globally. Cars coming in 2022 – Toyota Hilux
The Hilux had been in the rumours for a long time in India. The car is however set to launch in the country in January as it was recently spotted during an ad shoot. The pickup segment is quite a niche segment in India, the entry of Toyota can help speed up the process. Coming to the Hilux, it will be based on the Fortuner platform. This could help Toyota to do some localization on the Fortuner. It is expected to come with a 2.4-litre or 2.8-litre diesel engine with a four-wheel-drive option as well. Skoda Kodiaq facelift
Skoda had to discontinue the Kodiaq in India due to the BS6 norms. Skoda is set to relaunch the Kodiaq facelift in India. The facelifted model will come with some subtle design changes. It will come with a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a seven-speed DSG. It will also get a 4×4 drive option.
Cars coming in 2022 – Volvo XC40 Recharge
The Volvo XC40 Recharge is the electric version of the XC40 SUV. The XC40 comes with a twin-battery setup with a claimed range of 418km. As with all EVs, it comes with sporty performance and can go from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds. The XC40 will be Volvo’s first electric car in India.
Skoda Slavia
Skoda is known for its sedan lineup. The brand globally unveiled the Slavia recently. The Slavia is bigger than the outgoing Rapid. It also gets a more modern design with Skoda’s traditional grille. It also comes loaded with comfort features like ventilated seats and a sunroof. The Skoda Slavia is expected to bring the sedan game back in the country.
Citroen C3
Citroen is bringing more affordable cars to establish itself in the market. The C3 will be the brand’s most affordable car in India. The car will be based on Citreon’s CMP platform. It will get Citroen’s signature elements like coloured accents and signature grille. The interiors will come with premium interiors and comfort features.
Cars coming in 2022 – Jeep Meridian
Jeep is also entering the lucrative seven-seater market soon. This seven-seater will be based on the Compass but will get a lot of subtle changes. Jeep has already launched it outside India as the Jeep Commander. In India, it is expected to be called the Meridian. The Meridian will get 4WD system and other premium features that will make it a worthy rival for the competition.
