Volkswagen to bring a new car under Rs 10 lakh
In India, Volkswagen has been very popular for its European build quality and fun to drive cars. It has been a niche brand but is looking to change this with its Indian specific “project 2.0”. It recently launched the Taigun. Now it is looking to bring the new generation of the Polo. The Polo is quite a popular car in India and its new generation is sure to continue this trend. Exterior design
The new-generation Polo follows a similar design language to the current model. The front end of the cars looks quite sleek and sharp. It gets LED DRL strips that run through the grille connecting both the headlamps. The side profile gets a lot of sharp lines giving it a sleek look. Coming to the rear, it seems to be inspired by the T-Roc. Other exterior changes include different bumpers, fog lamps and alloy wheel designs.

In the interior too you get a lot of changes in the new-generation. It gets a modern dashboard layout with premium looking interiors. In the middle, it gets a large infotainment system that seamlessly integrates into the instrument cluster unit. Other than this it gets a digital instrument cluster and three-spoke multi-functioning steering wheel.
Specifications
The new-generation Polo could be based on the MQB A0 IN platform if made specifically for India. Coming to the engine options, it will come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, the same engine that powers the Taigun. Another engine could be the 1.5-litre turbo petrol, but the possibility of this happening is very slim. Volkswagen will have to invest heavily to make this happen. What Volkswagen could do is bring it as a limited-time edition for the enthusiasts.
Volkswagen Rs 10 lakh car Features
Volkswagen will load the Polo with a lot of new features. It will get features like a dual climate zone, heated ORVMs, a 10-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, ambient lighting and a premium sound system. Globally, the Polo even gets driver-assists like adaptive cruise control, lane assist. It is highly unlikely that Volkswagen brings these features to India, but these features can revolutionize this segment.
Expected launch and pricing
There is no official confirmation from Volkswagen regarding the new-generation Polo. But considering it is updating all its cars, we expect the new-generation Polo to make its way into the Indian market soon. The pricing of the New-generation Polo is expected to start from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
