8 new cars from VW & Skoda India 2.0 project
In India, the Volkswagen group cars are famous for their European build quality and fun to drive cars. In India, it has been a niche brand, but it is looking to change this with the India specific “Project 2.0”. The group has already bought the Kushaq and Taigun SUVs that compete with the Creta. In this new project, it is looking to develop India specific cars. It has planned a sleeve of upcoming cars. In today’s article, we will see these new cars from VW & Skoda.
New cars from VW & Skoda – Slavia
Skoda recently confirmed the name for its new mid-size sedan, the Slavia. The Slavia will sit above the Rapid in Skoda’s sedan lineup. Both the cars will most likely coexist. The Slavia will get traditional Skoda elements. Engine options will be similar to the Kushaq. It is expected to be launched in Q1 of 2022.
Volkswagen Virtus
Like the Slavia, the Virtus will be a mid-size sedan. Not much is known of the Virtus, but most likely it will also sit above the Vento. It is also based on the same platform as the Slavia and use the same engines as the Taigun.
Skoda Kodiaq
Skoda had to discontinue the Kodiaq due to the BS6 norms. Globally the Kodiaq received a facelift in April this year. This facelifted model will come to India with only petrol engines. It will also get 4×4 drive options. It will also get some new features.
New cars from VW & Skoda- Volkswagen Tiguan facelift
Volkswagen had to discontinue the Tiguan due to the BS6 norms. Now it will relaunch the Tiguan with its facelifted version. This facelift will get updated designs and new features. It will come with only petrol engines as VW had to discontinue the diesel engines.
Volkswagen Tiguan all-space facelift
Like the Tiguan, its 7-seater version, the Tiguan all-space will also be relaunched with its facelifted version. The facelift will also get updated designs and new features. Both the Tiguan and Tiguan all-space will be launched by the end of this year.
Volkswagen Polo new-gen
The Polo has been very successful in the Indian market, but it has gotten outdated now. Globally, Polo has received a new generation. Volkswagen should bring it to India too. The Polo new-gen gets updated design, interiors and features.
New cars from VW & Skoda- Volkswagen compact SUV
Volkswagen is working on a compact SUV to take on cars like the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. It will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform. It will share a lot of its parts and features with the Taigun. This compact SUV is still in its early development stage and will be launched in 2024.
Skoda compact SUV
Like Volkswagen, Skoda is also working on a compact SUV. Both the cars will share a lot of their elements. The company will be looking to follow the same strategy as Kushaq and Taigun to keep the costs down. It will be launched in tandem with the Volkswagen compact SUV.
