New Rs 14 lakh SUV with off-road ability coming soon
SUVs have become the new craze in the Indian car market. But even before this, big cars were popular in India. People prefer big cars that can accommodate their entire families. But options in this segment are limited to a few cars. Seeing this, Mahindra is working on an affordable car, the Bolero Neo Plus. In today’s article, we will see this big Rs 14 lakh SUV with off-road capabilities.
Design
The Bolero Neo Plus will be the extended version of the Bolero Neo. The front of the Bolero Neo Plus will be identical to the Bolero Neo. It might get some subtle changes like new bumpers to differentiate the two cars. It will also get Mahindra’s new twin-peaked logo on the grille. The side profile of the car will get that extended look due to the extra row. The Bolero Neo Plus will look quite big and imposing like other Mahindra cars.
Rs 14 lakh SUV specifications
Dimensions wise, the Bolero Neo Plus will be around 4400mm in length. It will be 400mm longer and 40mm wider than the Bolero Neo. Coming to the engine options, it is expected to get the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. This engine also powers the Scorpio and the XUV700, but Mahindra might detune the engine on the Bolero Neo Plus. The engine is capable of producing 140bhp and 320Nm of torque. It will only come with a manual gearbox.
Rs 14 lakh SUV features
The Neo Plus will carry forward all its features from the Neo. It will get features like all-power windows, cup holders, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, keyless entry, dual airbags and ABS. It will also get Mahindra’s MTT (Multi-terrain technology), helping it off-road.
Launch and pricing
The pricing of the Bolero Neo starts from Rs 11.70 lakh and goes to Rs 13.36 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The Bolero Neo plus will be Rs 50-60k more than the Bolero Neo depending upon the variants. The Bolero Neo plus is expected to be launched by the end of this year or early next year.
