Maruti XL6 – Could it come in CNG?

Rising Petrol prices and expensive to own electric vehicles have got the common man at a crossroads where CNG is still a cost-effective option. Maruti is an automobile giant that has been selling factory-fitted CNG cars for quite some time. Maruti Ertiga CNG is an option that people have been opting for. Could Maruti plan to get a CNG kit fitted in the Maruti XL6 for people who are looking for a premium six-seater?

Maruti Ertiga Vs XL6 – Better choice?

Maruti XL6 Design

The XL6 with CNG will be the same as the existing XL6 Petrol variant. Just that XL6 will lose its boot space because of it CNG kit. A compromise where you sacrifice boot space for fuel economy is a choice that the buyer needs to do.

Maruti XL6 Engine

The Maruti XL6 with the S-CNG is expected to offer maximum performance and convenience to its buyers. This car would come with an intelligent injection system and dual interdependent ECUs, this will ensure a refined and more consistent performance both in the city and on the highway. Maruti XL6 is expected to come with factory fitted CNG kit with a 60L (water equivalent) tank capacity. The engine will be the same 1.5-liter petrol that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque with a five-speed manual transmission. There are very slim chances of XL6 CNG coming in an automatic version.

Features

The XL6 is expected to get a better touch responsive infotainment system. The colored MID display with the fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, Cruise mode, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS + EBD will continue to be the same for the XL6 petrol variant.

Price and Launch

Maruti will continue to offer XL6 thru Nexa and will place it at a premium price of Rs 11 Lakh. We do not have any confirmation regarding the launch of the XL6 CNG variant. This car will compete with the existing Ertiga CNG.
