Maruti Ertiga and XL6 are counted in the affordable MPVs you can buy today. Many of the customers are confused among these two Maruti MPVs. They get touch screen infotainment display, coloured MID display in the instrument cluster, Auto AC, cruise mode, etc. Safety features include dual airbags, rear parking sensor, ABS as a piece of standard equipment across variants. The most noticeable difference is the seating configuration. Maruti XL6, as the name suggests gets six-seat arrangement that has middle row as pilot seats. While Ertiga gets bench seats in the middle row that makes it a 7-seater.
Engine / Powertrain
Both the MPVs do get similar powertrain. These MPVs are offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces around 103 bhp max power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine is then mated with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. Maruti Ertiga is offered with a CNG option also, that rises the practicality score of the Ertiga.
Considering all the above changes we can clearly see that Maruti Ertiga is meant for practicality while the XL6 is for sportiness. Customers considering style statement the priority might have been liked XL6. Pricing for the Maruti Ertiga starts at Rs 7.59 lakhs (ex-showroom). While XL6 starts at Rs 9.84 lakhs (ex-showroom). When compared with variants, XL6 is around Rs 70-90,000 premium over Ertiga for a similar level of features. Many customers can think of saving some bucks and still get a nice value for money.
