All major brands had reported low sales in May. Come June, the brands reflected positive growth. With the July sales reports now out, we can see a jump in the top three brands viz. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata. This clearly shows that OEMs are now back on track. In today’s article, we will discuss the July sales report of the aforementioned top three brands.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti, a brand that always beats the competition in terms of sales by selling above one lakh units came crashing down to just 46,555 units in May from 1,59,691 units in April. The brand was however back on track in June. Maruti sold 1,08,064 units in June this year. In July, the brand sold a total of 1,62,462 units including sales in the domestic market as well as exports. This is a 50.33% growth over June 2021. Out of the 1,62,462 units sold, the brand sold 1,33,732 passenger vehicles to customers in the domestic market. The brand exported a total of 21,224 units in July.

Maruti Celerio revealed ahead of launch

Breaking down the domestic sales, Maruti sold 19,685 mini passenger vehicles (Alto, S-Presso), 70,268 compact passenger vehicles (WagonR, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire, Tour S), 1450 mid-size passenger vehicles (Ciaz), 32,272 passenger utility vehicles (Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6) and 10,057 passenger vans (Eeco).

Hyundai

July sales report

Hyundai, in spite of low sales in May held the second spot in terms of total sales in the country. Hyundai sold 30,703 units in May this year. In June, the brand sold 40,496 units. The brand has achieved a total sales of 48,042 units in the month of July this year. The recently launched Hyundai Alcazar acted as a major boost to the total sales. Apart from this premium seven-seater SUV, cars like Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Venue and Hyundai i20 play key roles.

Tata July sales report

Tata Nexon EV

Tata has climbed to the third spot in the country when it comes to total sales. The brand sold 15,181 units in May. This figure grew to 24,110 in June. In July, the brand garnered a sale of 30,185 passenger vehicles. This is a 25.19% M-o-M growth. Apart from this, the brand sold a total of 23,848 commercial vehicles in July, out of which 2052 units were exported.
