Maruti Baleno is hands down the most successful premium hatchback available in the market today. Irrespective of the competition providing many modern features and engine & transmission options, the Baleno fails to deter. The car has continuously been on the top spot in the sales charts. However, it is past time that Maruti brought an update for the Baleno. Maruti launched the Baleno back in 2015 and to date, the car received a facelift back in 2019. It has been shared with Toyota as the Glanza. And now, with six years already on the product, we expect Maruti to bring the new-gen Baleno in the coming time.

New exterior
The new-gen Maruti Baleno is expected to come with a completely new exterior. New headlamps and tail lamps, new bumpers, new alloy wheels and a new front grille are some of the expected changes. Other than this, we also expect Maruti to bring new colors for the Baleno. With that being said, the Baleno is mostly expected to retain the signature Nexa Blue color since that gives a unique identity to the premium products from Maruti. We don’t think dimensions of the car will change more.
New interior
The new-gen Baleno is expected to come with completely reworked interiors. A new dashboard layout, new seating & upholstery and a new multifunction steering wheel are some of the expected changes. We expect Maruti to bring a big floating touchscreen infotainment system with the new Baleno since the current one is used in all Maruti products leaving no room for uniqueness. Rear AC vents, fast charging ports and a fully digital instrument cluster are expected. The biggest update of all could be a sunroof and cruise control. The new-gen Maruti Baleno might be the first product from Maruti to come with a sunroof. It should also get engine auto start stop and new hybrid technology.
New convenience & safety features
Maruti Baleno comes loaded with almost all the necessary features that a user might need. However, with the changing trends, buyers would surely appreciate some additional features if Maruti decides to add some. Wireless charging is one such feature that Maruti could provide. Other than this, the new Baleno might also come with 4 airbags and hill hold for the additional safety and convenience of passengers.
New engine options
We expect Maruti to revive the RS badge with its next-generation car. With the RS badge, Maruti would also have to bring back its Boosterjet engine which will be a much-appreciated offering from the brand. Other than the Boosterjet engine, Maruti might also offer diesel engines with the Baleno. Also, Maruti could bring a hybrid engine that will further help in improving the mileage of the Baleno, something that this premium hatchback is famous for.
Pricing
The Maruti Baleno currently starts at Rs 6.94 Lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 10.70 Lakh (on-road Mumbai). We expect Maruti to price the new-gen Maruti Baleno somewhere around Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 over what it currently sells at.
