Nissan Kicks was first brought to India in 2019. The car was targeted against products like Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. Nissan was the first brand in the segment to offer a 360-degree camera. The product was strong but could not perform for the brand. Last year, Nissan unveiled the latest update of the Kicks in international markets. With a facelift of the car around, we do see Nissan bringing it to India as well. Today’s article will deal with the updated Rs 12 Lakh Japanese SUV and look at what new has been added to the car.

The headlights have been made much sharp and minor tweaking has been done to the fog lamps. The front grille from the current car has been kicked out, only to be replaced by a much bigger grille which occupies a major chunk of the front fascia. On the rear, the Kicks gets the same tail lamps but with a new LED pattern inside. The rear bumper has also been subtly reworked upon. For a refresh, the SUV is expected to come with three new colours options as well.

In foreign markets, the new Kicks comes powered by a hybrid engine, called ‘e-Power System’. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine coupled with an electric motor makes a total of 127bhp and 270 Nm of torque. However, we are not sure what the brand might bring to India. Looking at Nissan’s habit of pushing features that are unique, we might get to see the hybrid system in India. Or, the brand could just end up reworking upon the 1.3-litre & 1.5-litre engines to make more power. We will have to wait to see what the brand decides.
