Car Launches Delayed to 2022
Car launches have been getting delayed since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. We are going to go through the list of cars that were expected here in 2021 but have now been delayed for next year. Most of the launches do not have a fixed date. These delayed car launches are expected to be happen next year in 2022 or the last quarter of this financial year.
Maruti Vitara Brezza
The Vitara Brezza got a facelift in 2020. This car is due for a generation change now. We expect this to arrive in 2022. The 2022 Vitara Brezza will have improved safety and features will be better. The car will be based on Maruti’s new platform and we might see the return to diesel. We expect some drastic changes as this car sits at the top in the hottest segment for India.
Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio was expected this year. The company has introduced a variant in the current model and we expect them to continue with the current generation car for at least this year. They have recently released a teaser about the upcoming XUV700. Mahindra has a lot of pending launches in terms of electric cars too. The Scorpio seems to be a project which will take place when the company increases their production capacity.
Maruti Jimny
The Maruti Jimny is available to a lot of countries in 3 door option. For India, the company is looking at making a car that is a long-wheelbase version. The Jimny is set to compete with the Thar which has also green lit production of a bigger 5 door model. The launch date of this Jeep has not been revealed. The engine will be new and there is a diesel engine expected on this small off-roader.
Hyundai Venue Facelift
Hyundai Venue is now due for a facelift. Although there is no news about Hyundai working on it this year due to the pandemic. We expect the facelift to make its debut in 2022. With the facelift, the Hyundai Venue will get better features than it misses now and we are also expecting a better tune from the engine. There would also be a diesel automatic option which might be made available.
New Polo
It has been said that Volkswagen will bring in the recently unveiled polo to India in 2022. This version of the Volkswagen polo has been expected in India long back that is the reason we consider this as a delayed car launched.
Tata Harrier Petrol
The Tata Harrier Petrol was expected long back. No you might think why a petrol Harrier? It will help in dropping the price of this great car which is now only available in Diesel. Also, there has been speculation that Tata is developing a 1.6-litre petrol engine which will do its duty on this car.
