Jeep Compass H6 – Expectations
The Jeep brand has been doing great with just a single product pulling the brand’s wagon in the country, the Compass. The Compass, which was recently updated heavily inside-out, brought more value for itself with this iteration. However, the talk of the town is that Jeep is planning to bring a 6-seater to the country (codenamed H6) sometime in Q4 of 2021 or Q1 of 2022. In this article, we will discuss our expectations of the upcoming Compass H6.
Platform & Engine
The Compass H6 will be based on the same platform which underpins the latest Compass. The overhang will however be increased to accommodate the extra seating in the 3rd-row of the car.
The Compass H6 is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre Multijet 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine from the Compass. However, the engine is expected to be re-tuned to produce better power figures.
Exterior
The Compass H6 is expected to be similar to the 5-seater Compass in terms of exterior design. With the new Compass having received some upgrades, the same is expected to be pushed on to the bigger car as well, along with some extra elements to add a premium. The H6 is expected to follow design lines of 6/7-seaters by bringing an upright rear to accommodate the overhang and the extra seating.
Interior
The interior on the new Compass was the major talking point of the latest update. The updates of the Compass are expected to be carried forward to the H6. Panoramic sunroof and cool seats are also expected to be offered with the H6. The features will not be limited just to the updated bits but will also be added with some other conveniences to make the H6 much more luxurious than the Compass 5-seater.
Pricing & Rivals
The Compass H6 will be positioned as a premium 7-seater in the market. The H6 is bound to be expensive than the Compass, however, we cannot speculate the pricing as of now. The H6 will rival against big bulls like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the latest-entrant, the MG Gloster.
