The electric mobility segment is on the boom in India. The entry of Tesla in India was a great milestone for this segment. Home-grown electric mobility manufacturers like Tata, Hero and Ather have been doing quite well. People are also slowly getting aware of EVs and making environmentally friendly decisions. Hero Electric AE-29
Hero is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India. The company has already tired its hands on the EV segment. The estimated price of the Hero Electric AE-29 Ex-showroom is Rs. 85,000. Hero already showcased the scooter during the Auto Expo. It comes with a 1kW electric motor along with a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Hero claims a 0-100 charge time of 4 hours. The company also claims a full battery range of 80kms which is not too shabby.
Simple Energy Mark 2
This will be a pricier scooter in the electric vehicle segment. The expected pricing of Simple Energy Mark 2 is Rs. 1.10 lakh. The company is setting up a manufacturing facility in Hosur at a cost of Rs 45 crore, with an annual capacity of 50,000 units. Simple Energy is a Bengaluru based startup that will first start its operations on a low scale. Simple energy promises a 0-100 charge time of just 1 hour and 5 minutes along with a 260km range in the Eco mode.
Hero Electric AE-8
The AE-8 is the second Hero product on our list. The expected pricing of the Hero Electric AE-8 is Rs. 70,000. This electric scooter was also unveiled during the Auto Expo 2020. Hero claims a full battery range of about 80kms and a top speed of 25 km/hr. It comes with a full-LED headlight and a full-digital instrument console. Funky exterior colour will also be an option with the Hero Electric AE-8. The expected launch date of all the scooters in the list is around March 2021. Hero Electric AE-75
Ending our list is another Hero India product. The company showcased many products during the Auto Expo 2020. The AE-75 is a high-performance electric scooter slated to be launched in 2021 by Hero. Hero Electric claims that the AE-75 can reach top speeds up to 55 km/hr which is nothing spectacular but great for an electric scooter. The product is also said to have 80kms of range.
