What is new in the Limited Edition?

The Series 1 will be the first scooter in India with translucent body-panels, thus offering a peek inside the body. This unique look will make the scooter stand apart from the crowd. The scooter’s aluminium chassis is visible under the seat along with the trellis frame design thanks to the translucent panel.

The exteriors are also different with a new gloss metallic black body with red accents. This scooter has been specifically made for the modern young generations, and the stand-apart look will surely attract many customers.

Ather Series 1 Specifications

Limited-edition Ather Series 1

The Ather Series 1 spec-wise is identical to its sibling, the 450x. It uses the same 3.3kW/6kW (continuous/peak) motor that produces 26Nm of torque which is better than 450x’s 20.5Nm.  According to Ather, the claimed top speed is still the same at 80km/hr with the additional torque helping in initial quick acceleration.  Charging time has also increased for 0-80% charge in 3hr 35min.

Ather has also worked on overall practicality of the scooter. The new range stands at 70km in Ride mode.  Eco mode further increases the range till 85km. More about Ather Limited Edition India below.

Terms and Conditions

Ather as of now is only available in Bangalore but the company plans to extend its operations to 11 new cities by Phase 1. The Ather Series 1 will also be given to only customers who pre-ordered the 450x before its prices were announced on January 28, 2020.  The company also promises that deliveries will begin in all 11 cities by November 2020.

What does the company say?

Tarun Mehta the CEO and co-founder of Ather was quoted saying, “Building automotive-grade translucent panels is tricky and I am super excited that Ather is bringing them out for the first time ever with Series1. The teams have been working on it for months and despite the lockdown, we have been able to produce something truly fantastic.”
