The next-gen Hyundai Tucson N Line has been previewed in official sketches released by the Korean automaker. The renders provide a glimpse at the upcoming, sportier version of the 2021 Hyundai Tucson SUV that saw its premiere in September earlier this year. The Hyundai Tucson sits above Venue and Creta in the SUV lineup in India. So, what’s new on the Hyundai Tucson 2021?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson’s new exterior styling is based on Hyundai’s evolving Sensuous Sportiness design identity, which the folks at Hyundai call ‘Parametric Dynamics’ with jewel-like surface detailing. The half-mirror type daytime running lamps (DRLs) are well integrated within the parametric grille and are only visible when illuminated.

It gets a more aggressive front bumper profile and sharply-cut housings for the main headlamp setup. Lower down, the central air dam seems more prominent as well, owing to a revised mesh pattern and a thicker lip.

More about N-lineup

The N Line Tucson further gets blacked-out treatment for the roof, window surround, A-B-C pillars and wing mirrors, in addition to N Line badging on the front fenders. The intricately designed, dual-tone alloy wheels are also unique to the sporty SUV. The N-line will be the sportier variant in the Hyundai Tucson lineup.

Engine and Performance

Hyundai Tucson Interiors

Hyundai India has not revealed any official details about the engine and performance of the new SUV as of now. The current generation Hyundai Tucson sold in India comes with a variety of powertrain options, ranging from 1.6-litre turbo-petrol to 2.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre oil burner. Hybrids also feature significantly across the line-up.

The previous-generation Hyundai Tucson N-lineup got a stiffer chassis and suspension setup to complement the sporty styling, though the powertrain was shared with the standard model.

Launch in India

Hyundai has announced that new generation Hyundai Tucson will be launched in spring 2021 in the US. No fixed date is available for launch in India or any other global car market. The automaker recently introduced the facelifted version of the standard third-gen Tucson in our market. So it will be a while before the fourth-gen model, and possibly its sporty derivative, make an India debut.
