The premium hatchback segment was created by Hyundai i20 back in the day. The car was in dire need of an upgrade and Hyundai recently launched one too. While the prices of new car disappointed a lot of people firsthand, the overall product is quite nice for its price. But which variant of the Hyundai i20 is best for you? Find out below about Hyundai i20 variant breakdown for 2020.

1) Hyundai i20 Magna

The Hyundai i20 Magna is the base variant of the new i20 lineup. The new car costs Rs.6.80 lakh as the introductory price. It comes with all the standard safety features. Additional features in this variant include projector headlamps, Manual Day/Night IRVM, Remote central locking and Impact sensing auto door lock/unlock. All the basic must-have functional features are present in the Hyundai i20 base variant.

Electrically adjustable ORVMs, front and rear power windows, fixed front armrest, rear AC vents, cooled glove box, tilt and telescopic steering and various charging points are present. The 2-din Audio system with steering mounted controls is not the best but does the job.  You also get LED DRLs, body-coloured front and rear bumpers/ORVMs and R15 steel wheels are present.  Hyundai has done a good job by providing major features in this price point.

2) Hyundai i20 Sportz

The Hyundai i20 Sportz variant with the manual transmission costs Rs.7.59 lakh. A CVT transmission option is also present for Rs.8.59 lakh.  Key additional safety features included in this variant include tire pressure monitoring system, Rear parking camera and DRVM, and rear defogger. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play also adds the much needed modern look to the interiors.

Functional features here include auto headlamps, height-adjustable driver seat and electrically adjustable ORVMs.  Style enhancing features in this variant include LED taillamps, R16 styled steel wheels, turn indicators on ORVMs, shark fin antenna and digital instrument cluster. You also get a turbo engine option with this variant of the premium hatchback.

3) Hyundai i20 Asta

The Hyundai i20 Asta costs Rs.8.69 lakh for the manual transmission and Rs.9.69 lakh for the automatic variant. There are various engine and transmission options available with this particular variant. New features in this variant include LED projector headlamps, rear wiper, electronic stability control*, Hill-start assist*.

The main difference in the interiors will be the segment largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Keyless entry with push-button start/stop, wireless charger, auto AC and air purifier are additional features for the extra money. Cosmetic changes include DRLs, chrome door handles with R16 alloy wheels, ambient lighting and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

4) Hyundai i20 Asta(O)

This is the top variant in the new Hyundai i20 lineup. For the 1.2 litre engine it costs Rs.9.19 lakh while the turbo petrol engine costs Rs.11.17 lakh with DCT transmission. Additional features here include side and curtain airbags, adjustable rear headrests, cruise control and sunroof. Electronic stability control, hill start assist and air purifier is also available with certain configurations.
