Citroen Berlingo MPV Spotted On Test

Citroen Berlingo MPV was actually set to make its first move in India by 2021. But now due to Covid-19 norms this MPV might not see its launch at least in the earlier half of 2021. The Citroen Berlingo might be the 3rd offering from the company. So the company will first launch the C5 Aircross SUV  (Creta Competition) and then C3 Aircoss SUV (Venue competition). The Berlingo will come after these 2 SUVs have made their strong foot in the market. Also, the company might venture into the EV space with their 4th car in India.

The Citroen Berling MPV is also considered to be the last CKD vehicle after which Citroen will make localised vehicles based on the Cubed-Architecture.

The images of the Citroen Berlingo are not that different from that of the previously spotted car – What is Citroen Berlingo? For India? The MPV gets very minimal camouflage and it also has only the Citroen logo. The styling is very radicle and the Van shape of the car makes it noticeable.

For India, the Berlingo is coming with siding doors. This MPV is expected to be the storage king of its class. This brings us to which class does this MPV fit in. We expect it to fall right in between the Toyota Innova and Maruti Ertiga according to dimensions. Whereas the pricing of this car is expected to be in the range of the Toyota Innova from Rs 15 lakh onwards.

Features on this MPV are too early to speculate. Automatic sliding doors are expected but they might be seen only on top variants. On the interior, their front is expected to get a dashboard attached gear shift lever. this might also lead to a no centre tunnel policy.

Citroen Berlingo MPV Specifications

The dimensions of the MPV are also big which makes it stand apart on the road. According to European standards, the car is 4.40 meters long. There are 2 versions of their MPV with 5-seater and 7-Seater options. The 7seater version is longer slightly at 4.75 meters.

The engine is supposedly a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit making about 110 bhp of power. There might be a diesel 1.5-litre engine but information about its power figure have been leaked. The MPV might be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or 8-speed automatic.
