SUVs have dominated the Indian market for quite some time now. While most SUVs come with a 5-seater option, 7-seater SUVs are not rare too. Both MG and Tata will be bringing Hector Plus and Gravitas in the 7-seater SUV segment. As a result Hyundai, the 5-seater SUV king has decided to bring a 7-seater offering for its Indian consumers named the Alcazar. No official announcements have still been made from Hyundai. Find details about Hyundai Alcazar SUV 7-seat below.

What is Alcazar?

ALCAZAR Hyundai

As per our sources, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Has recently trademarked the name ‘Alcazar’ with the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry. An auto-manufacturer only trademarks a name after a new car has been in the pipeline for quite some time. The Alcazar trademark has been registered under Class 12 category. The Class 12 category refers to modes of transportation by air, land, water.  The goods and service details of the new classification mention it of SUV category.

How Different From Creta?Hyundai Alcazar

Hyundai Creta 2020 is a 5-seater SUV which was launched in its updated Avatar recently. The Hyundai Alcazar on the other hand will be a 7-seater version of Creta. Exteriors and Interiors will be kept similar to keep the production costs low. To win against MG Hector Plus and Tata Gravitas, Hyundai has to price its car quite competitively.

The only major difference will be the inclusion of the third row. Minor styling changes must be made by Hyundai like the MG Hector Plus to differentiate it from the 5-seater offering.

Indian Launch?

Hyundai has still not confirmed any official launch date still. The Hyundai 7-seater SUV has been spotted road testing quite a few number of times. The heavy camouflage hides major details but the taillights are slightly different than Creta2020. Dual tip exhausts also have been included in the Alcazar to add a sporty touch.
