The success of MG Hector in the Indian market does not require any additional introduction. However, 15,000+ units have already been sold since its launch in June 2019. The current pandemic has slowed its growth, but the company is doing fairly well. Our Motoroctane team was recently in contact with Mr Rajeev Chaba, MD of MG India and he spilt the beans of some new launches scheduled in India including the Hector Plus. Bookings of MG Hector Plus have been started and this means that we can expect the launch of the vehicle soon!

MG Hector Plus Booking

The bookings of the MG Hector Plus have not been officially announced by MG. This is different from dealer to dealer and the amount varies too. But the MG Hector Plus Booking start gives us an idea that the launch is closing in soon and the car will be seen in showrooms with an official launch from MG.

What’s New?

The biggest change in the 2020 new MG Hector Plus is that it will come with 3-row of seats instead of the 2-row seats in the MG Hector. The car has been promised to be provided as a 6/7 seater. You either have an option to go with captain seats or bench seats in the middle row. (2+2+2)/(2+3+2). This is the biggest difference in the new Hector Plus.

Are there any New Features?

The new MG Hector Plus will come with an updated version of the trademark iSmart1.0 interface of MG Hector dubbed as iSmart1.5. As a result this car too will qualify to be an ‘internet-car’. The new iSmart1.5 gets a new ‘chit-chat’ mode in contrast to its predecessor, the iSmart1.0 available in Hector. The new iSmart1.5 also receives OTA(over-the-air) updates and is as easy as updating your mobile phone. The new system gives alerts, warnings, infotainment guides and also reminds you to switch ON the ignition if you have been listening to music for too long, thus saving your battery! This feature works wonders.

What is different in the looks of MG Hector Plus 2020?

For starters, the 3-row setup is obviously an update of the 2-row setup in the Hector. The new MG Hector Plus will also get redesigned grille and bumper, updated taillight design and all-new headlamps. A slight change of 40mm is rumoured to be present in the wheelbase, but its benefits are still unknown. For more details on booking of MG Hector Plus in India 2020 stay tuned.
