The Royal Enfields have been bikes which have created a very stark opinion in the minds of the people.

With the extreme vibration issue and the low power high cc engine, they are not earning a good reputation among enthusiast either. Even though Royal Enfield has thrived as a brand because of the status symbol that it provides the Royal Enfield owner. But the company has started to notice that this is not going to outlast the real issues that the bike has and people will start to notice them. What’s New?

Speaking to the car and bike recently, Vinod Dasari CEO, Royal Enfield says ” So, we’ve learnt how to make many different bikes on the same modular infrastructure with the same engine, the same gearbox and the frame. So in that, sense what was traditionally a company which had very limited powertrains will now have significant expansion in powertrains.”

This means that we can expect a new engine on the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Also, the platform will be different. From images of that were leaked, we can see that it makes uses of a double cradle chassis. Now you might think that the chassis alone might curb the Vibrations? Well, that is not the case, as we can see from the statement from the CEO, there will be a new engine too. Now this engine will be something to look forward too as the company is doing away with the Pushrod system. They are introducing the DOHC layout which will make that engine a better performing unit. To give u more clarity on this it might feel like the engine on the Royal Enfield Interceptor.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350

The Royal Enfield owner has always been wanting the extra sixth gear to leverage the feel of the ride. And now, there has been a report that says it will be true very soon. The power delivery will also improve and it will have an overall better rideability.

This will also see an overall effect on the mileage of the bike. Royal Enfield has been working on this new 350 cc platform for a pretty long time, specifically just after the launch of the RE 650 twins. The plan is that the company will make multiple bikes on the same Royal Enfield 350 platform. In this way, RE will be able to control the prices of the bikes.

There will be more than two bikes made on this platform for sure. The first will be the Royal Enfield Meteor (Thunderbird successor), it was supposed to get launched by the April 2020 but COVID-19 pandemic has delayed it. The next-gen Royal Enfield Classic might be the second bike on this platform. Royal Enfield has registered names like Hunter and Serpa and these might make it to the future bikes. As of now, the company hasn’t commented on the Meteor yet so it’s too early to predict anything.
