Suzuki V-Strom 250 is the quarter-litre adventure motorcycle sold in European countries and some international markets as well. The ADV was expected to launch in the previous year but somehow it didn’t, however, we are expecting the motorcycle to launch by the end this year. Nevertheless, we will see what this bike will feature when launched in India.
The bike resembles the bigger Suzuki V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 1000. It gets the beak fairing, round headlamps, LED taillamps, and more of an ADV look. The European spec comes with a full-digital instrument cluster we can expect the Indian variant to feature Gixxer 250’s instrument cluster.
The European spec model comes with a windscreen, knuckle guard. side case attachment, luggage mounting, we can expect the same features in Indian spec as well.
India bound Suzuki V-Strom 250 will be getting the same 250 cc engine as of Suzuki Gixxer 250s, however, it might get tuned for the offroad condition. The engine unit on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 is a fuel-injected, oil-cooled unit producing 26.1 bhp max power and 22.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The performance on the Gixxer 250 is good enough according to 250 cc standards so we can hope for a similar level of performance on V-Strom 250 as well.

The Euro-Spec variant comes with telescopic suspension at front and swingarm type mono-shock suspension at the rear. The petal discs do the braking of the bike. We can expect the Indian spec to share the suspension and braking with the Gixxer 250.
However, the suspension will be tuned on a softer side for better ride quality. The brake assistant is expected to be a single-channel ABS or dual-channel switchable ABS. The Euro-spec model comes with alloy wheels which is unusual for adventure motorcycle; we are hoping the spoke wheels for India bound V-Strom 250 as it will increase it’s off-roadability.
Nevertheless, it is a mystery for now and we hope Suzuki surprises us with some good news.
The seat height for the Euro-spec model is at 800 mm which is good for shorter riders as well. Suzuki has also offered various accessories and tools for the V-Strom so we can expect the same in India as well. The accessories include 23-litre top case, 20-litre side cases, centre stand and many more.
The pricing is expected to start at 2-2.2 lakhs(ex-showroom). It will be competing against other ADV motorcycles such as Royal Enfield Himalayan, Hero Xpulse 200, KTM Adventure 390 and BMW G 310 GS.
