Hero has done what many manufacturers are failed to, that is to make the most affordable dual-purpose motorcycle. We are talking about the Xpulse 200 which is a successor of the Impulse. However, there are some things that are lacking in this dual-purpose motorcycle which we would like to point out. Continue reading the blog and we are sure that it will be useful for you.

Power

Straight to the point, the bike lacks power. You might have heard this previously about the lack of power. The bike produces less power than most of the 200 cc bikes. The bike comes with a 200 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces around 18.1 bhp of max power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque. However, we would never complain about the lack of power because the bike comes at a very attractive price point and has a good initial torque which is good enough for offroading. The lack of power is only felt during the highway run as post 100 km/hr, it starts vibrating. The upcoming BS6 model will have an oil-cooler so we can expect Hero to surprise us with power figures this time.

Handlebar

There are many reports about the height of the handlebars. It says that the height of the handlebar is slightly less so in the standing position we have to bend a fit forward. However, Hero has heard the problem and they have introduced a rally kit in which you get the handlebar riser, so we hope this riser to come as a separate accessory as well. Nevertheless, you can purchase aftermarket risers any day.

Tubeless Tyres

The Hero Xpulse 200 misses out on tubeless tyres as the bike is equipped with the spoke wheels. Many of us might know that spoke wheels do no come with tubeless tyres as it is hard to manufacture the spoke wheel which mates the tubeless tyres. So we can’t really ask Hero for opting the tubeless tyre as it will raise the cost of the bike with a very significant amount. What Hero can do is sell the Xpluse with the Tyres of the 200T, which does not have many sales anyway, as a SuperMoto bike.

Other than these things there are few small misses such as bigger windshield, high illuminating LED headlight but that’s acceptable as these things can be changed easily. The bike is really a good off-road motorcycle, and due to this reason, it overshadows its negative points. The bike comes at a very affordable price tag at Rs 98,844-1.06,865 (ex-showroom). However, these prices are of BS4 mode, the BS6 model is yet to be launched. We can expect the price hike of Rs 6,000-7,000 over the BS4 model. The bike competes against Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS.
