2020 Hero Super Splendor 125 BS6 – get new colours

Hero will be unveiling the the Super Splendor in the BS6 avatar pretty soon. It was seen in the new colour options along with the Splendor plus BS6. The pricing is expected to have the hike of Rs 6,000-Rs 7,000. Lets see what kind of changes it possess over the BS4 variant.

Design

The design of the bike has not change much compared with the BS4 counterpart. However, it now gets the new redesigned headlamp unit with the chrome treated strip. It now gets more sleeker indicators. The engine is now painted with somewhat silver-like colour, which enhances its visual appeal. The taillamp is a new unit, it is much bigger in size than the BS4 counterpart.

Engine

The engine is retained from the current Super Splender, but is a BS6 regulated unit. The engine is 124.7 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder fuel-injected unit that produces around 10.7 bhp max power and 10.7 Nm peak torque. Comparing with the BS4 model the power has gone down by around 0.4 bhp and torque by 0.3 Nm. However the throttle response will be better compared to the BS4 model due to fuel-injection system. The engine will be mated with the 4-speed manual transmission.

The weight is around 122 Kg and has fuel tank capacity of 13 L. It is expected to have better mileage compared with the BS4 counterpart. The suspension duty is handled by telescopic suspension at front and dual-hydraulic spring suspension at the rear. The braking duty is managed by 240 mm disc at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear.

Features

The Hero Super Splendor BS6 will have Hero’s i3s technology, which claims of 5% increase of mileage in real world condition. The braking will be assisted by the Hero’s IBS technology, which allows to lock both the simultaneously. The instrument cluster will be the same unit with updated graphics.

Price

The pricing is expected to have a price hike of around Rs 6,000-7,000 over the current model. For reference the current model costs around Rs 61,186(ex-showroom), the disc variant will costs around Rs 3000 more than the drum variant. The bike is expected to launch around April of 2020. It will compete against Honda CB Shine and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
