2016 Mahindra Xylo Powertrain

The 2016 Mahindra Xylo will come fitted with a  2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine. The power output is expected to be around 120bhp and it will sport a five-speed manual transmission. It might also get a six-speed AISIN automatic transmission on offer too. This currently does duty on the XUV500. The new Scorpio will be offering this too. The other option might be the 2.2-litre petrol engine that will produce about 165bhp of power. The 2016 Mahindra Xylo may also get an AMT with a smaller 1.5-litre engine. At the moment, Renault Lodgy and the Maruti Ertiga to some extent will be competing in this segment. One bunch that attracts private car owners and even cab fleet owners. The 1.5-litre is a good pick for cab fleet, while the 2.0-litre is for private car owners. Mahindra could offer both as well.

The MUV will have larger seats and even better features like a touchscreen system with maps, reverse parking camera, bluetooth and steering mounted audio controls. The new 2016 Mahindra Xylo will be targeting premium MUV buyers and at the same time a base model for commercial purposes. For the commercial market, Mahindra will be introducing the 2.5-litre or maybe a 100bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine. This will be an attractive offer for private cabs. There will be micro-hybrid technology on the higher variants. Mahindra has focused on design, interior quality, features and comfort level.
