While Maruti is celebrating their 40 years by bringing the bold black colour scheme for their Nexa cars, there is another car whos loading up the ammunition to rival the XL6. The Maruti MPV which has been upgraded for the year 2022 has got enough on its side but is it powerful enough to take on this new rival? Let’s talk about a new Maruti XL6 rival car.

Maruti XL6 rival – Design

We are talking about the Kia Carens here which has taken up the affordable MPV segment by storm. Talking about the dimensions of the car, it measures 4,540 mm in length, 1,800mm in width and has a height of 1,700mm. If we compare it with the XL6, the car boasts a wider body and longer wheelbase which translates into improved interior space. Other than this, being a Kia, the Carens look aggressive and imposing from the front.

Maruti XL6 rival – New engine option

The most integral part of the car which is likely to get updated is the petrol engine option. We are talking about the wave of new Phase 2 norms that are set to axe the 1.4-litre turbo engine of the car. So, which engine it would get? There are talks about a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine replacing the 1.4-turbo. Unlike the current one which is a fully imported unit, the 1.5-litre turbo would be made in India to favour the costs. This new engine is likely to produce around 160bhp of power making it more fierce than the XL6. The other two engine options, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel would remain intact.
