The Ertiga mainly caters to commercial businesses, while the XL6 targets more premium buyer. However, Kia has now entered this segment with the Carens. The Maruti XL6 is 4445mm in length, 1775mm in width & 1700mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2740mm & has a ground clearance of 185mm. The Carens is 4540mm in length, 1800mm in width & 1708mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2780mm & has a ground clearance of 195mm.

Engine options

The XL6 comes with petrol engine options only. It comes with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine capable of producing 103bhp & 138Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to manual & automatic gearbox options.

In comparison, the Carens come with two petrol and one diesel engine options. A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 113bhp & 144Nm of torque is available. The second petrol engine is a 1.4-litre turbo unit capable of producing 138bhp & 242Nm of torque. The last engine is a 1.5-litre diesel unit capable of producing 113bhp & 250Nm of torque.

(Note – The premium variant only comes with a manual option on all engines)

Feature-wise, the XL6 Zeta variant comes with 7.0-inch infotainment, auto AC, remote keyless entry, ISOFIX, a voice command system, cruise control, etc. In comparison, the Kia Carens Premium variant comes with a 7.5-inch LCD cluster, semi-leatherette, five USB C-type ports. This variant however offers no touchscreen infotainment unit.

The pricing of the XL6 Zeta variants is Rs 11.88 lakh for the manual variant and Rs 13.27 lakh for the automatic variant (on-road, Mumbai). While the pricing of the Carens Premium variant starts from Rs 10.57 lakhs and goes to Rs 13.32 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
