Tata Tiago has been a really strong product for the Indian manufacturer. The car takes a lead against the competition with high safety ratings, quirky styling and comfortable cabin elements & features. Tata had earlier introduced a crossover-inspired variant of the Tiago called the Tiago NRG to make this hatchback even more practical and stylish, however, it was discontinued last year. Looking at the success of this product, Tata has launched a facelift for its Tiago NRG today. In this article, we will look at all the changes that the Tiago NRG facelift gets over the pre-facelift car as well as the currently available Tiago.

Exterior

Tata Tiago NRG launched

The changes on the exterior have been included to give the NRG a muscular look. The car gets body claddings, a blacked-out roof and integrated roof rails. Also, the car gets new 15-inch alloy wheels, new blacked-out bumpers with faux skid plates, blacked-out ORVMs, pillars & door handles and black plastic cladding on the tailgate housing the ‘Tiago´, ‘NRG’ badging. Overall, the car gets a beefier appeal over the regular Tiago. Contrary to these changes, the Tiago NRG borrows the front grille from the regular car. The Tiago NRG will be made available in four colour options viz. Foresta Green, Fire Red, Snow White and Cloudy Grey.

Interior

On the interior front, the Tata Tiago NRG facelift comes with a black interior theme complemented by contrasting accents around the gear lever and AC vents. Apart from these changes, the car looks very similar to the regular Tiago.

Specifications

The Tiago comes powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that produces 87bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. The Tiago NRG gets 181mm ground clearance, sitting 11mm taller than the Tiago. The car comes with slightly enhanced dimensions, thanks to the added body cladding and reworked elements. Also, Tata has re-tuned the Dual-Path suspension setup for the NRG.

Features

The Tata Tiago NRG gets elements like push-button start/stop, keyless entry,  auto-fold ORVMs, ABS with EBD & CSC, defogger and rear wiper. Apart from this, it borrows features like the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium sound system by Harman, power windows, fully-digital instrument cluster, D-cut multi-function steering wheel, etc. from the Tiago. With that being said, the Tiago NRG misses out on the automatic AC that the Tiago gets.
