Could it be Upcoming Tata Tigor Turbo Petrol?
Tata Tigor has 6 variants all with a petrol engine. It does have an AMT gearbox and the car does provide a good package at Rs 6.37 lakhs for the base variant. Tigor safety too is best in class with 4-star safety when tested by GNCAP. We have come across some spy shots of the sub-4-metre sedan while testing and here is why we think this might be a Tata Tigor Turbo Petrol.
Tata Altroz Turbo Petrol
Tata is getting ready to launch the Altro Turbo Petrol. That engine is expected to be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This means that they will have a new turbo engine which could also be used in other Tata cars like the Tiago and the Tigor. The Nexon already gets a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which might also be the basis of Altroz Turbo.
So this does not really confirm that the test mule could be Tata Tigor Turbo Petrol but there is a fair amount of possibility that Tata might launch it with a detuned 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which will be there on the Altroz.
Competition
The Tigor’s head-on competitor is the Hyundai Aura. The only place where the Tata Tigor lacks is that does not have a peppy engine option for the extra performance. Also giving turbo petrol it will have on-demand performance.
And a smaller means that the Tata Tigor will not compromise on fuel economy if you drive it slow. The only thing that could be a problem when tuned like this is that it might lose on the low-end punch. Now let’s take a look at the spy shots below.
