Upcoming Fiat and Jeep launches for India

Fiat is looking at getting new products to India. This even includes it for the Jeep brand. Fiat and Jeep both will have an array of products coming in the next three years. We share all the new upcoming products that Fiat and Jeep should be getting into the Indian car market.

Fiat Linea 125S

The Fiat Linea 125S will be the 125bhp version of the Linea. This will be powered by Abarth and it will be introduced in the next 8-10 months. Fiat will be adding some more features to the Linea and this will be the new flagship version of the Linea range in India. It will get different set of alloy wheels and some additional features too.

Launch Date: Late 2016

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross

The Fiat Avvnetura Urban Cross is a more stylish version of the Avventura. It doesn’t get a rear wheel mounted on the tail gate. This is the same car that we had mentioned will be coming in sometime a year ago.

This will be launched around the festive season. It will even get a lot more features than the regular Avventura. This will be offered with the 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine option.

Launch Date: Festive season 2016

Jeep Wrangler

The first launch for the Jeep brand will be a product that defines the brand. The Jeep Wrangler will be coming to India in petrol and diesel avatars. However, it will be made available only with an automatic transmission. The Wrangler is a two-door SUV that will come with low-torque option and of course the four-wheel drive too.

Launch Date: Mid 2016

Price: INR 30 lakhs (on-road)

Jeep Cherokee

The Jeep Cherokee is the luxurious model that will be competing with the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC. This will be offered with a diesel engine and shall even be offered with only an automatic transmission. The benefit that the Cherokee will have on the rest will be its ability to dirty its shoes.

Launch Date: Mid 2016

Price: INR 60 lakhs (on-road)

Jeep 551

A Jeep that will be Made in India. This will be manufactured in the company’s Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra.

The Jeep 551 will be a small SUV that will be coming with two diesel engine options and there will even be a petrol engine on the offering. Jeep is testing a six-speed manual and nine-speed ZF transmission options on this new SUV. The global launch of this SUV will be happening in India and this will even be made in other Jeep plants.

Launch Date: End 2016

Price: INR 20-25 lakhs (on-road)

Fiat new Punto:

Fiat will be getting the new gen Punto to India. However, it will be made on the same SCA platform that is used for the current Punto. This will be the next major launch for Fiat India. The Punto will have the same set of 1.

2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines on offer and then for diesel it will be the 1.3-litre multijet. Read our story on the new-generation Punto.

Launch Date: Early 2018

Price: INR 4-9 lakhs (on-road)

Fiat new sedan:

Fiat is working on a new sedan, not sure if it will be called as the Linea. But it will be based on the same platform and it will even get a 1.5-litre multisite engine as well. There is the 1.4-litre MultiAir engines being tested as well, but we aren’t certain if that will be made available on the Fiat new sedan.

Launch Date: Late 2018

Price: INR 6-12 lakhs (on-road)

Fiat new SUV

Yes, Fiat has been working on a new SUV as well. This is a compact SUV that will go against the Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra TUV300. Fiat will be introducing the Fiat SUV much later after the launch of the new sedan and the Punto.

Launch Date: 2019
