Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Review

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross is the new avatar of the Avventura. The Avventura Urban Cross is an exquisite looking car and looks like a proper crossover having high ground clearance. It also gets some new styling elements. So, how good is the Avventura Urban Cross? We share this in our review.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Design

Urban Cross is based on the Avventura. This is the more modern version of the Avventura family. It has a stylish front grille that makes it look premium.

The headlamps now have LEDs in them and it looks stylish. The alloy wheels are not what was shown in the concept vehicle. They are as similar to the Avventura.  Fiat has done away with the rear mounted spare wheel and this is a welcome change. There were quite a few complaints on the rear spare wheel. Also it was cumbersome to operate.

This is one of the most stylish looking crossovers. The fog lamps also have chrome surrounds and then there is the Avventura embossment too. The tyre has been increased to 17-inch.  A petal design with glossy black, red surrounds and a machined finish, these wheels look amazing.From the side the vehicle is the same but gets a new thick side strip on the doors with Avventura branding. There is also a new roof rail on the top which looks stylish.

As there no rear mounted wheel now, the Urban Cross looks stylish. It now somewhat resembles the Punto Evo from the rear. The wing mirrors are different colour and there will be new colours on offer on the Urban Cross. This is also likely to have a ground clearance of 210mm.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Interiors

On the inside, Urban Cross is just like the Punto Evo in terms of layout. The interiors remain identical to the Avventura. The standard Fiat steering wheel is the same unit.There is a new  touchscreen system has been added. It is placed in the centre on the dashboard. There is navigation too. The safety features include dual airbags and ABS with EBD. In terms of space, it is the same like the Punto. There is no difference in that. Follow Me Headlamps, Rear AC vents and bottle holders will be the same like the Punto Evo/Avventura.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Engine

Fiat is offering two engines on this cross. One is a petrol and diesel. The major seller will be the diesel, which is a 1.3-litre engine producing 92bhp of power. This engine has good power and it has decent performance. In city, one does need to shift gears often. This isn’t a good bit about it.  However, the downside is that the diesel is not available in the top end Emotion variant and this is not the best decision by the company, according it us. The petrol engine is the most powerful with 140bhp. This has good performance and is our pick of the two. Both come with a five-speed manual transmission.

The box is a bit rubbery and the throws are a bit long.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Ride and Handling

The Avventura Urban Cross retains all the virtues of the Avventura in terms of ride and handling. The ride quality is incomparable even by a vehicles twice the price. Despite the high ground clearance, this crossover stays planted on the road on sharp bends at high speeds. The perfect balance between ride and handling is mastered by the Italians. Even the general slow speed harshness found in crossovers and SUVs is not present in the Urban Cross. It is a pleasure to drive this vehicle over ant terrain.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Price

The Urban Cross is priced between INR 7.5 lakhs to INR 10.9 lakhs (on-road pricing). This is about  INR 35,000 more than the regular Avventura. It comes loaded with a lot more features and this is one reason why buyers would drift towards this cross. Styling is one of the biggest USPs for the Urban Cross.
