Tata Tiago 2019 Facelift spotted while testing

The Tata Tiago 2019 will be offered with a range of standard safety features across all its variants. The Tiago is the best selling car from Tata and is also among the top ten selling cars in the country. Tata Motors would want to keep the Tiago selling high in numbers. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. SN Barman – Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Customer Support, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “There is a rising trend among car buyers of prioritizing safety features while making their purchase. The Tiago was our first product sporting the IMPACT design language which received a brilliant response from the market and with this upgrade, I am sure the brand will stay on top of the consideration set of prospective car buyers.”

The Tiago XZ+ was also introduced earlier this year to make sure that the car can go toe to toe with the Asta variant of the Santro in terms of features. The new variant will be a good car to consider as it could be cheaper than the Santro considering the current prices. The same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05 -litre diesel. Gearbox is a 5-speed unit and it will be continued to be offered. The AMT will also be there and this time it may also be offered on the diesel. Tata Tiago 2019 Standard Safety

The car will be equipped with features such as Dual Airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Corner Stability Control (CSC), and Rear Parking Sensors. It will be three years since the launch of the Tiago and it is due for a minor facelift. The Tiago will get some upgrades too.

Introduced at a starting price of INR. 4.40 lakhs(ex-showroom Delhi), the car is now more expensive than when it was orignally launched.

The Tiago XZ+ is the top-end version of the car and is priced at Rs 5.57 lakhs (single tone) and Rs 5.64 lakhs (dual tone) for the petrol version. Additionally, the diesel version will be available at Rs 6.31 (single tone) and Rs 6.38 (dual tone), all ex-showroom Delhi.

Tata Tiago 2019 Mileage

The  Tata Tiago 2019 petrol will no see any change in its mileage. The fuel efficiency will be the same as the current car. It will have have an ARAI specified fuel efficiency of 23.84km/l and for diesel, it will be 27.28km/l. However, in real driving conditions, the fuel efficiency will be different.

Tata Tiago 2019 XZ+ features

In terms of exterior design the car gets a Dual-tone exterior option – Glossy black roof & spoiler 15” dual tone alloy wheels (only with the petrol engine option) Chrome accent on tailgate Body side molding 2 new colours – Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue. In terms of infotainment and convenience the XZ+ variant gets ConnectNext 7”inch touchscreen system by Harman, Android Auto connectivity, voice command recognition through Android Auto, Incoming SMS notifications & read outs, Digital controls for FATC, Fully Automatic Temperature control, projector headlamps with smoked black bezel, electrically folding ORVM with welcome function.

The car will see the headlights from the new 2018 Tigor which has got a smoked finish with projector headlamps. The XZ+ will only be offered with a manual transmission as of now. This array of updates will give the Tiago a great arsenal to go up against the new Santro with it’s feature loaded top variant.

Tata Tiago 2019 Design

The Tata Tiago 2019 will have the same basic design but it will get tweaks in the styling department.  The car will get a new front grille and the headlamps will also be new. This time they will have LED daytime running lights.  The styling won’t be flashy but will be pleasing to the eye. Expect projector headlamps too this time.  The side will see no change, except for the alloy wheels, which will be new. The taillights also will see a change. Most probably these will be LED lamps. The rear spoiler will see slight modifications and the rear bumper will also be a restyled one. We could see LED fog lamps too.

Badges on the car could see a slight tweak too. There could be a new set of alloy wheels that come with this car. A dual-tone design can also be expected. The car could also get a shark fin antenna and some roof rails from the Tiago NRG. Also overall we could see some of the exterior elements like the new colors and clear taillamps from the recently launched Tigor facelift come to the Tata Tiago 2019.

Tata Tiago 2019 Interiors

The New Tata Tiago 2019 will get subtle changes to its interiors. The basic layout will be the same and will see no, change whatsoever.  New seat fabrics will be seen in the 2019 model. There will be some changes made to the interior theme as well, to add some freshness. Tiago has a lot of storage spaces that would not be disturbed. The car could get a revised steering wheel too with some more functions. Automatic climate control could make its way into the car. This would be a big plus for the small Tiago. The buttons on the dashboard could be revised a little.

The instrument cluster will see some change and also probably the addition of some more information for the driver. A new touchscreen system is expected to be offered in the Tata Tiago 2019. The seats will have better cushioning, which will be on the firmer side. It will be the same in terms of space, Tiago is one of the most spacious cars and the new model will carry forward this virtue. The boot remains the same at 230 liters of space. This is decent for daily commuting and weekend luggage.

There will be new colors offered in the Tiago 2019. However, it is too early to predict what kind of colors will be seen in it. A new black color may be introduced in the Tiago 2019.

Tata will also see some of the new colors available on the 2018 Tata Tigor make their way on the Tiago 2019.

 Tata Tiago 2019 Specification

The New Tata Tiago 2019 will come in petrol as well as diesel engine options. These will be the same offered currently. There will be no change to the engines or transmissions. A five-speed manual transmission does duty on both these engines. Currently the petrol Tata Tiago gets an AMT but the diesel is offered only with a manual transmission. There is a possibility that Tata may get the AMT with the diesel engine too. It will then rework the engine for more power. The performance of both these engines is decent and offers a good mix of city and highway driving. The petrol engine on the 2019 Tata Tiago will be more refined. Fuel efficiency will also be amongst the best.

Tata Tiago diesel automatic?

There are many among us, who have been asking us if the Tiago 2019 will get an AMT or automatic on the diesel version. To make it, it will not be a difficult task for the company. but in 2020 when BS-VI norms will be implemented, that is when the fuel prices for diesel and even the engine cost will shoot up. This will mean that diesel car buyers will reduce further, especially in smaller cars. The company might no longer have a diesel option available on the Tiago.
